[Class 64(ii)] [Also in Groups X and XII] A building element which may be used as a heatexchanger and produced by resistance welding comprises covering sheets 3, 4, Fig. 1, on each side of a framework of webs 1, 2, the height of the webs being at least ten times their thickness and the webs two to four times, preferably two and a half times, thicker than the covering sheets. When used as a heat-exchanger and wall &c. for a house or apparatus, the spaces between the webs are connected by holes or by staggering the webs and a liquid or gaseous heating or cooling medium is conducted through the building element by connections 49, 50, Fig. 21, and as shown by the arrows.
