632,670. Differential piston pumps. CHAIN BELT CO. Dec. 6, 1946, No. 36171. Convention date, Dec. 6, 1945. [Class 102(i)] In a pump for plastic materials, such as concrete, two parallel pistons 28, 29 operate out of phase and are driven from the eccentric 24 through a lever 27. The piston 28 has twice the area of the piston 29 and a valve 21 is oscillated by rods from the eccentric shaft. The valve 21 controls the flow from the inlet 40 to the piston 28 and then closes the inlet and opens the delivery so that half the concrete in cylinder 30 passes to the outlet 48 whilst the other half flows to the cylinder 31 to be delivered whilst the piston 28 is making its next suction stroke. The head containing the valve is secured to the pump by quickly releasable chains 34, 36.
