Abstract

632,574. Discharging carbonated liquids. COCA-COLA CO. March 21,1946, No. 8826. Convention date, March 31, 1945. [Class 14(i)] [Also in Group XVIII] Apparatus' for dispensing carbonated water comprises a capillary nozzle associated with control means regulating the flow of carbonated water from a source thereof, said nozzle having a helical passage therein of such dimensions as to use up in friction substantially the whole of the pressure energy of fluid passing therethrough while maintaining streamline flow in the fluid. Carbonated water under pressure in a container 10 is discharged through a nozzle having a helical passage formed by a plurality of V-shaped helical grooves 16 on a plug 15 fitting tightly within a sleeve 14. The discharge is controlled by a valve 17 which is opened by depressing, against the action of the spring 19, a nozzle-piece 20 screwthreaded on the valve rod 18.
