Abstract
631,761. Shuttering for moulding walls and beams. BROTTENBERG, W. May 22, 1947, No. 13819. [Class 20(ii)] [Also in Group XXIII] A wall or beam moulding section comprises, a number of wooden boards fixed edge to edge in rigid connection by couplings a, Figs. 1, 3, formed by forcing pointed rods e, Fig. 5, of wood or steel &c. between steel strips or bands c positioned in transverse channel ways d cut through the boards. The couplings may consist of either one or two rods e forced between two or four spiked bands c to each channel way d, the spikes b penetrating the wood of the boards so that the bands and rods strengthen the section against warping and tensile stresses. The bands may have their ends bent at right angles either over the adjacent edges of the wooden boards or over the ends of the rods. In a modification, Fig. 8 (not shown), the couplings do not each completely traverse the wall moulding section from edge to edge. The wall moulding sections may be secured together to form the intended wall mould by wooden supports and co-operating iron straps.
