Abstract

The U-section block for constructing door-posts, lintels, and window-recesses, consists of three walls (2, 3, 4) forming a U-shape. The base (4) is extended beyond its intersection with one side-wall (2) by a wing (5) which tapers as it leaves the base, its outer face (6) being on the same plane as the outer face of the base (4). At the bottom of both the inside and outside faces (6, 7) is a lengthwise V-section notch. Two identical notches (9) are located on the same faces some distance from the free edge of the wing (5) and all the walls as well as the wing (5) have longitudinal grooves. Several blocks may be placed on top of each other and rigidly joined together by means of concrete which is poured into the duct formed by the U-sections.
