705,940. Fencing. LANE, Ltd., A. G. July 22, 1952 [July 23, 1951], No. 17358/51. Class 45 In an interwoven fence the joins between adjacent woven slats 12 are covered on at least one side of the fence by additional strips 14 overlying the meeting edges of the slats, the slats and overlying strips of the fence or each fence section being held together by securing elements 15 at both ends and preferably also at the centre, such securing elements being attached to the slats and strips. The strips 14 are approximately half the width of the slats and their use substantially eliminates draughts through the fence. The slats 12 are arranged horizontally and are interwoven with vertical slats 13. The fence is made in sections and each end of each section is sandwiched between two strips which form the securing elements 15, these being nailed to the slats 12 and strips 14. Additional strips 16 may be positioned between the strips 15 to help to prevents chinks forming between the strips 14 and slats 12. Strips 18, 19 are nailed to the top and bottom edges of the fence. The fence may be made with the slats 12 and strips 14 arranged vertically and the slats 13 horizontally.
