Abstract

725,998. Fencing. ELSDON, C. N. April 10, 1953, No. 9836/53. Class 45. A fence comprises chainlink or other wire-mesh metal fabric which consists of intermeshed flattened spirals 2 of galvanised wire the loops of which define at each side of the fabric a series of parallel shallow gulleys extending obliquely to the edges of the fabric, the gulleys on one side intersecting those on the other side and is characterised by a strip 4 of weather- resistant material inserted into each of the gulleys on one side of the fabric which is retained therein by the engagement of its edges beneath the loops defining the gulley into which it is inserted, additional strips 5 of the material being superimposed upon or interwoven with the first mentioned strips and arranged to pass beneath the loops which define the sides of the gulleys containing the first mentioned strips. The strips 4, 5 are made of material such as roofing felt, rubberized plastic, metal or wood fibre compositions. The ends of the strips 4 and 5 are lapped around the loops of the mesh and secured by staples 6.
