631,337. Pulverulent - fuel burners. KENNEDY, J. E. Jan..29, 1947, No. 2825. Convention date, March 27, 1946. [Class 75(i)] [Also in Group XII] As shown in Fig. 1 a pulverized fuel burner comprises an air supply duct 42 feeding an air box 46 opening into a combustion chamber, a burner tube 50 having a long and narrow cross-section and extending through the air box, adjustable air deflectors 78 for directing air from the box towards the stream of fuel issuing from the burner tube, a fuel deflector 70 at least as long as the burner tube outlet opening and mounted in the path of the fuel stream and means for supplying air through the fuel deflector to the fuel stream. Tertiary air may also be supplied to the upper part of the combustion chamber. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also details of a steam generator furnace having burners as described above. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
