Abstract

The process of Specification 630,270 which comprises obtaining purified sisal wax from sisal flesh by extraction with a hot organic solvent followed by treatment of the extract solution with an absorbent material which eliminates resinous matter, chlorophyll and other impurities, the purified wax being finally p obtained from the clean extract solution by distilling off the solvent, is applied to the extraction of any vegetable wax from plant leaves or flesh, the extract solution of which is preliminarily purified either by distilling off the solvent to obtain a partly purified residue or cooling to obtain deposition of a partly purified residue, which residue is re-dissolved in an organic solvent and the process of Specification 630,270 then effected. The plants specified comprise sisal, sanseviera, hennequin, flax and jute. The remaining details are as described in Specification 630,270.
