Abstract

628,933. Lathe tool-boxes. GANDELL, W. R. K. Aug. 20, 1947, No. 23075. Addition to 542,712. [Class 83 (iii)] In a tool-holder as claimed in the parent Specification, the tool a is held between a rib b<SP>1</SP>, which is formed on the upper member b and is narrower than the cutting-edge of the tool, and a ledge c<SP>1</SP> in the lower member c, the front face of the member c being recessed, c<SP>2</SP>, to accommodate a part of the work. The members b, c, are connected by a clamping bolt d. The upper member b carries a locating plate f and is also recessed. The ledge on the lower member may be formed by a plate attached by screws, the plate supporting the tool along its whole length and being curved to facilitate chipcurling. L-shaped packing-pieces may be inserted below the tool and the clamping bolt d may pass through a slot in the upper member b. The Provisional Specification states that the rib bl may be omitted from the member b.
