628,640. Grinding and polishing. DUBIED & CIE SOC. ANON., E. Feb. 14, 1947, No. 4265. Convention date, April 25, 1946. [Class 60] A machine for radius grinding of milling cutters and the like is characterized in that, in order to obtain adjustment of a workpiece holder carried on a plate 9 adapted to swivel in its own plane, means are provided to permit setting the plane of the plate at any desired inclination to the plane of the working surface of the grinding wheel S. The plate 9 is pivoted about a pin 8 at the centre of a circular plate 5 and has two rollers 10 bearing on the raised outer edge of the latter which is keyed to a shaft 4 journalled in bearings 2, 3 and provided with an index arm 19 registering with a scale on a lug 18 forming part of the bearing 3. A bolt 20, carried by the index arm, passes through an arcuate slot in the lug to serve as a locking device. Adjustment of the workholder relative to the plate 9 is effected by a compound slide 12, 14 while movement of the plate 9 is limited by adjustable stops 17.
