[Class 3(ii)] [Also in Group XX] A reflector device comprises a transparent body having an axial hole by which it is fixed to the tread-retaining bolt of a cycle pedal and having reflective surfaces arranged so as to direct light outwardly with respect to the hole. Each tread member 2, Fig. 1, of a cycle pedal comprises two rubber parts separated by a reflector element 3, all being arranged for mounting on a bolt 4 which may be silvered to act as a reflector. The reflector element 3 is a washer of circular or other shape and is formed of glass or plastic with either a plain or facetted central hole. The element may be made in one piece or of segments held together by flanged washers and the segments may have internal and/or external facets or dome-shaped projections. The sides and facets of the segments may be silvered to act as reflectors. Two or more elements may be mounted side-by-side with or witiiout washers between them. A split retaining sleeve with end flanges may be used to hold them together. A reflector element may be forced into the internal facets or moulded therein. More than one reflector assembly may be used on each tread with one or more rubber members. In a modification, Fig. 14, the reflector element 18 extends the length of the pedal and carries replaceable rubber tread faces 19 or rubber studs.
