Abstract

Diaphragm valve has a diaphragm with pref. a PTFE front and an elastomer back which contacts part of a compression body. A threaded fixture is screwed into part of this body, and telescopes with a gudgeon which is fixed to the diaphragm; the telescoping is maintained by a coupling element yet which permits play between the fixure and gudgeon. Pref. the fixture comprises an externally-threaded ring. The coupling element is a pin which extends transversely through the rod and extends beyond it.
