Class 97(1) A light - transmitting reflecting element for the tail lamp of a vehicle is in the form of a cup for direct transmission of light through the base and side, a part of the inner surface of the base having a group of triple reflector elements at least those makes them the marginal series, being in the form of tetrahedra with the base vertices removed to define a hexagonal base and arranged in groupings of six forming a central hexagonal aperture containing a like seventh triple reflector. The groups of reflectors may bound a diameter of the element, as shown, so that transmitted light can pass through the other half 5 of the base as well as around the edge 6 of the reflector grouping. The outside of the base may be convex and a flange 8 may be formed on the side of the cup.
