Abstract
628,363. Shelf fittings. PUNCH ENGINEERING PTY., Ltd. Aug. 26, 1947, No. 23547. Convention date, Sept. 9, 1946. [Class 52 (i)] [Also in Groups XVIII and XXX] An arrangement for the storage of articles which stand or lie upon a portion of a belt which is driven progressively by means so arranged at or beyond the unloading end of the part available for storage that the other end of this available part is freely accessible for-loading. The belts for storing the articles may be arranged in shelves or bins. As shown, in Fig. 1, the conveyer 1, on which the articles are stored, runs over a support 2 and guides 3, 11 and has a flap 4 leading to a transverse conveyer 5 running in a guide 6. The conveyer 1 is driven through a pulley 7 connected with a clutch 8 beyond the unloading end. The clutch can be actuated electrically and can be automatically stopped. The belt is tensioned by a spring urged roller 9 connected with the support 2. The driving rollers may be displaced in a vertical plane so that the conveyers may be run side by side. To load the conveyer initially, the flap is raised and the articles are deposited as the conveyer runs until the belt is filled then the flap is lowered. The conveyer 1 may have a lower guide beneath the guide 11.
