Abstract
628,307. Dry closets. ROEC (PROPRIETARY), Ltd. June 24, 1947, No. 16705. Convention date, July 15, 1944. '[Class 26] A dry closet structure comprises a pit, an enclosed and unobstructed conduit leading downwards from a seat to the pit and a chimney extending from the pit into the open air to an elevation well above the level of the seat opening As shown, an apertured seat 18 is mounted on a pedestal 15 within a chamber 2 having adequate ventilation 3 and a conduit 5, having a larger aperture at the seat end and a length several times the diameter of that aperture, leads to a pit 4 which may be off-set from the chamber, the end of the conduit being flush with a wall 13 of the pit and having a smaller aperture than the seat end. The pit has a vent pipe 21 and a removable sloping cover 22. An air flow is set up from the chamber through the conduit, the pit and the vent pipe to the atmosphere. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91, comprises also a curved conduit. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
