628,228. Gas turbines. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. Sept. 24, 1947, No. 25961. Convention date, Sept. 24, 1946. Drawings to Specification. [Class 110 (iii)] In gas turbine and other rotors, which are constructed with hollow interiors, cooling effects are produced by convection currents in the enclosed air or gas. According to the invention, these effects are increased by placing the enclosed gas under pressure. The interiors may be filled with hydrogen. A single hollow rotor may carry the blades of both the air-compressor and the turbine.
