Abstract
627,958. Electromagnets. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and ROSE, W. R. Sept. 22, 1947, No. 25725. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXXVII] In an electromagnet having an L-shaped armature 3 with a limited rotary movement about one limb of an electromagnetic yoke 2, the armature has a slot 6 transversed by a hooked projection 7 integral with the said limb. A wire spring passing around the projection and carried by the armature holds the latter in unattracted position and prevents removal of the armature. The spring may, for example, be of the form shown or may be a continuous spiral with hooked ends secured to the screws 12.
