Abstract
816,061. Electromagnetic relays. CLAESSON, P. H. E. March 9, 1956 [March 11, 1955], No. 7517/56. Class 38 (5). In a contact device comprising at least one movable contact spring which is pretensioned to move and engage a fixed contact spring when permitted, e.g. by actuation of a relay, the pretensioning is such that the pressure at the point where the springs engage is at least thirty times, e.g. fifty times, the weight of the moving part of the movable spring. As shown in Fig. 1, energization of magnet 1 attracts the armature 2 pivoted at 40 so that actuator 9 is moved against the bias of return-spring 10 and contact springs 3, 6 move to engage fixed springs 4, 6 under their own tension. In another construction (Figs. 2, 3, not shown), a rotary disc controls four sets of change-over contact-springs each set comprising a central fixed spring and outer movable springs, the movable springs extending through clearance slots disposed around the disc. In another arrangement, Fig. 4, a movable U-shaped wire contact-spring 26 engages a U-shaped fixed contact-spring 27 at points 29, 30.
