Abstract

627,955. Manure distributer. MAJOR, P. C. Sept. 9, 1947, Nos. 24751/47 and 4252/48. [Class 6(i)] [Also in Group II] A machine for mixing and disintegrating manure and for applying other chemicals and water thereto (see Group II), may comprise means for distributing the manure over the ground. In the embodiment of Fig. 7, manure is passed along from a charging chute 16 in a housing 15 to a discharge chute 117 by means of rotary disintegrators 25, which cooperate with fixed tines 32. The discharge chute is pivotally mounted on a vertical axis and is rotatably reciprocated by means of an eccentric 77 coupled by a connecting rod 76 to the radially disposed arm 75. In the embodiment of Fig. 6, a pair of vertical beater shafts 68 at the discharge position 17 throw outwardly the manure delivered to them from the disintegrators 25. A container 38, Fig. 5, for chemicals with which the manure is to be treated is supported above the disintegrators and contains radial agitators 42, its base having apertures 50 intermittently closed by an apertured shutter 51 oscillated by a cam 58, the position of the shutter being variable within the collar 53 to adjust the feed.
