[Class 83 (iii)] A wood-boring tool comprises a cutter 5 of wedge cross-section which is laterallyadjustable in a slot 13 in the headmember 2 and is clamped in position by a lever 6, a recess 3 being provided in the head for accom. modating the pivot 7 of the lever and a setscrew 10 controlling the action of the lever. The lever 6 is provided with a lug 8 which is pivoted between the walls of the recess 3 on a rivet 7. The tapering side faces of the cutter may be of curved form, and the adjacent faces of the slot 13 are tapered to a slightly less extent than are the faces of the cutter. The end 4 of the boring-head is bevelled and may have a cutting projection 12.
