Abstract

556,993. Cutters for woodworking machines. WORMSLEY, H., COLBECK, F., and LORD, A. July 31, 1942, No. 10712. [Class 145 (i)] A cutter-holder A for a woodworking machine is provided with one or more recesses or slots C each of which receives a cutter G and a chipbreaker H, and also with a pair of aligned bores E, F at right-angles to the slots C and adapted to receive devices for securing the cutter in position. The bore F tapers slightly and receives a pin L the front end of which engages a recess J in the cutter G. A screw M in the bore E similarly engages a recess K in the chipbreaker H and clamps the cutter in place. A projection D in one wall of the recess C engages transverse slots in the chipbreaker.
