Abstract

542,069. Turning. McNEIL, J., and McNEIL, M. Oct. 30, 1940, No. 15844. [Class 83 (iii)] Ogival heads for shells and, like bodies are turned by a tool 17 carried by a lever 16, with a fulcrum 14 laterally adjustable on the saddle 11, and a follower 22 at its other end engaging a cam track 23. The interior may be machined at the same time by a second cam-controlled lever having its fulcrum on a cross slide 20 adjustable on the saddle by the screw 21. The tools are preferably set to cut in a plane a little above the line of centres.
