208,348. Portass, F. W. Nov. 22, 1922. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Turning.-In a slide for a lathe or other machine tool the sliding member 3 is traversed by a screw 10 along parallel ways 1, 1<1> on the fixed member 2 and is further guided by a bar 5 passing through a hole 4 in the sliding member. On one side the slide is provided with a gib 8 adjustable by grub screws 9. In a modification, the arrangement may be inverted so that 2 becomes the movable slide. The slides may be compounded.
