[Class 66] An opener for cartons &c. has a spike a on a centre-piece k adjustably clamped at k2, l to a bar b at the end of which a razor blade or other cutter g clamped between plates d, e with prongs d<1>, e<1> extending into a handle f is detachably secured by a wing- nut &c. c, an offset arm h acting as a guide. In a modification, a pivotal guide is fixed near the centre of one end of the carton and a saw-blade which passes through and slides in the guide, is reciprocated and rotated to saw out the end of the carton.
