Abstract
626,002. Load-handling machines. PARMENTER, J. R. April 24, 1947, No. 10984. [Class 78 (iii)] In a tractor used in agriculture of the type wherein a hydraulic lift is installed to raise and lower a plough or other implement and to operate a hoist, a hoist is provided for sacks and comprises a jib A fulcrumed to a framework detachably mounted on the tractor, and capable of movement in both horizontal and vertical planes. The framework consists of two pairs of limbs B, the lower ends of which are secured to the rear axle C, and a pair of limbs B<SP>1</SP>, the lower ends of which are secured to the draw bar D, the upper ends of the limbs being united in a tubular swivelling head E carrying limbs B<SP>2</SP> terminating in a bracket B<SP>3</SP> to which the jib A is pivoted. A cable F is secured to the inner end of the jib, passed round pulleys G and connected to the lever H of the hydraulic lift. The framework and jib may be made of tubular metal.
