Abstract

625,232 Loading hay: sheafing machines. TOPE, E. R., and TWOSE, Ltd., E. V. June 30, 1947, No. 17239. [Class 6(iii)] [Also in Group XVII] The pick-up unit of a side-feed straw &c. baling machine., (see Group XVII], comprises laterally-spaced groups of tines 44 mounted on transverse bars 43 carried by a laterally-spaced pair of chains 42 which are coupled by a series of chain drives to one of the rear road-wheels. Wide sheetmetal strips 45 are spaced between the tines 44 and the unit as a whole may be raised or lowered by means of a chain 61, crank 57, 59 and a screw 54 carried by a rod extending to the forward end of the machine, where it is formed with a handle. The straw is carried over into a trough 12 from which it is delivered by reciprocating forks, (not shown), into a baling chamber.
