[Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group I] A hay-loader comprises a forwardlyextending inclined elevator consisting of endless chains b interconnected by bars a carrying resilient tines c, the elevator being driven by an engine t on the chassis o, and being provided with an inclined surface k up which the crop is pushed by the downwardlyhanging tines on the upwardlytravelling lower run of the elevator. The tines comprise wire fingers wound around the tine-bars to extend backwardly at approximately 130 degrees to the direction of motion of the elevator run. The engine t drives the upper end of the elevator by a beltdrive q, y, the belt drive q being interruptable by an arm p<1>. The machine, which is towed by a vehicle on to which the crop is to be loaded; is mounted on forward wheels r and rearward castors s.
