Abstract

625,161. Hand saws. OLSON, V. Feb. 7,1947, No. 3744. [Class 61(ii)] A hand saw has the back of the blade formed as a graduated straight-edge 12 and also the right angular tip 14 of the blade. The teeth vary in pitch from the tip to the heel end, which latter is sharpened at 22 to serve as a cutter, and the toothed edge is also graduated. The edge 16 of the handle is formed at one part as a 90 degrees square and at the other at 45 degrees to the rear edge of the blade and a number of lines at indicated angles radiate from the corner of the handle across both blade faces. A hole 20 at the tip of the blade to receive a nail driven into the work enables a circle to be drawn thereon by a scriber located at a point along the scale at the toothed edge for the particular radius required. The handle also comprises a level 25 for plumbing and a double level 23, 24 for opposite levelling.
