[Classes 20(ii) and 20(iv)] [Also in Group XXIII] In a wooden structural element in the form of a grid or lattice of bearers 1, 2, crossing each other and formed of several laminae glued together, the laminae 3, 4 of bearer 1 at each intersection alternately pass through and abut against laminae 5, 6, of the other bearer, the bearers being connected by gluing the laminae crossing each other. Metal or other strip material may also secure the laminae. Instead of alternate laminae being severed they may be incised and the crossing laminae overlaid. The intersecting bearers may be of different height and of T, double T, H or other cross-section; two or more widths of lamina may comprise the width of one bearer. The lattice may support a veneer for roofs, floors, ceilings, walls, scaffolding &c. or may serve as torsional beams for narrow coupled girders.
