Abstract

623,811. Valves. WALKER, CROSWELLER, & CO., Ltd., and BARKER, C. L. July 11, 1946, Nos. 20685/46 and 11209/47. [Class 135] In a mixing device for hot and cold fluids, the adjacent spindles 6, 7, of two axiallyaligned cocks 3, 5, in the conduits 2, 4, leading to the mixer 1, are permanently interconnected by manual actuating means. A spigot 12 on the bush 8, carried by the spindle 6, enters a socket in the bush 9 carried by the spindle 7, and co-operating dogs 14, 15 on the bushes allow the hot water or steam valve 3 to be opened by the handle 16 only when the cold water valve 5 is opened, and the valve 5 to be closed by the handle 17 only when the valve 3 is closed. In a modification the spindles are interconnected by a bridge-piece carrying a handle.
