Abstract
623,374. Lens turrets. COUTANT, A. C., and MATHOT, J. A. Oct. 26, 1945, No. 28307. Convention date, Dec. 23, 1944. [Class 97 (i)] The front face of a camera has a pivot inclined to the optical axis and bearing a rotatable lens turret which may be moved away from the face so that the lenses may clear the sockets provided for them and then rotated to position a lens along the optical axis of the camera. Three lenses, of which two, 23, 24, are shown, are mounted on the conical surface of a disc 21 which can be rotated to allow the lenses to occupy the optical axis PP<SP>1</SP>. To prevent the under part of the lenses from fouling the mechanism on rotation the plate 21 has a triangular aperture engaging a triangular pin 33 secured to the casing 30, a spring 34 engaging the disc 21 and a screw-head 32 on the pin 33. To rotate the lenses the plate 21. is pulled outwards against the action of the spring until the aperture therein disengages from the triangular portion of the pin 33 when rotation is possible, the lens being finally held in position by re-engagement of the pin 33 with the aperture in disc 21. Specification 623,375 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also a camera having a lens turret disc freely rotatable about the inclined axis X-X. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
