622,379. Fuel-injection pumps. LAGONDA, Ltd., GREEN, G. W. A., RUTHERFORD, R. E., and LIPSCOMBE, J. A. March 25, 1946, No. 7186/47. Divided out of 9119/46. [Class 102(i)] A fuel injection pump, of the type in which the delivery commences when the piston closes the suction port, has a piston 2 formed with a recess 2a in which is a push rod 5, the other end of which enters a recess in a rocker 3. The depth of each recess is greater than the stroke of the pumps to prevent the push rod from being displaced. A slot 3b closed by a spring clip 6 is provided in the side of the recess in the rocker so that the push rod may be removed and replaced by another of a different length to vary the beginning of injection.
