622,307. Centrifugal fans. AKTIEBOLAGET ATLAS DIESEL. Jan. 20, 1947, No. 1807. Convention date, Oct. 29, 1946. [Class 110(i)] [Also in Group XXVII] The air inlet to a charging fan 11 for an internal-combustion engine is through a chamber 14 in the plane of the driving gear of the fan, one of the gear wheels of which is shown at 3, the noise of the driving gear being thus reduced. The chamber 14 and its connecting passage 15 are preferably lined with sound-damping material 17, 18, 19, 20 and as shown a second fan 12 is mounted on the driving shaft for reverse running. The fans may be of the centrifugal or axial flow types. Specification 530,645 is referred to.
