Abstract

621,252. Mounting terminals; bush insulators. SPORING, P. A., and TELEGRAPH CONDENSER CO., Ltd. Feb. 11, 1947, No. 3952. [Classes 36 and 38 (i)] A terminal for making a moisture-proof connection through the cover 2 of a metal casing 1 of, for example, a condenser 3, comprises a metal rod 4 passing through a resilient bung 8 compressed in an aperture in the cover 2, the aperture having a surrounding wall 6 extending inwardly at right angles to the plane of the cover with a beading 7 on the outside. Fig. 3 (not shown) illustrates a tubular electrolytic condenser wherein the wall surrounding the aperture is inclined at an angle to the plane of the casing. Alternatively, the wall may be curved. Where aluminium leading-out wires are used, brass or like tags may be pinched thereon, the tags, if desired, being eyeletted to a sheet of insulating material.
