Abstract

553,544. Mounting terminals. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and COLE, R. A. L. Nov. 21, 1941, No. 15004. [Class 38 (i)] For mounting a terminal 5 in the wall of an hermetically sealed casing, an insulating bush 3 of ceramic &c. material has a flange 11 with a castellated surface 12 and carries a cup 2 the rim of which is crimped over into the castellations, a lead-in wire 8 being sealed by a glass bead 7 into the cup. The flat part 17 of the cup is soldered or brazed to the edge of a hole in the casing. The terminal 5 fits into castellations in the end 13 of the bush 3 and is secured by a hollow rivet 4 through which the wire 8 passes to be soldered to the terminal at 10.
