Abstract

542,406. Mounting terminals. TELEPHONE MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., PADDLE, L. H., and COOK, J. S. N. Nov. 15, 1940, No. 16540. [Class 38 (i)] An assembly of terminals 5 on an insulating strip 4 is provided with a metallic surround 6 which can be secured to the casing 8 of an electrical apparatus by soldering, riveting &c. or by sliding into a guideway or other inter-engaging formation. The strip may be moulded on to the terminal shanks and the inner edge of the surround. Alternatively the strip may be built up of front and rear portions riveted together by the terminal shanks and clamping the surround between them. The surround may form the lid of the casing 8. Leads from the enclosed apparatus pass through the hollow terminals and are soldered at the outer end, sealing the aperture. An annular rim 10 encloses a recess to receive wax, lacquer, or other sealing compound around the stem of the terminals and a similar seal may be 'formed at the joint between the strip 4 and the surround 6.
