Abstract

872,728. Cable and wire terminals. ERMA Ltd. Nov. 3, 1958 [Aug. 2, 1957], No. 24579/57. Class 38 (1). A terminal for electrically joining parts of different metals or parts of a soft metal such as aluminium is made by drawing down two concentric tubes of dissimilar metals. As shown, a terminal lug having a tubular end in which a cable 6 can be crimped and a flattened end with a stud hole, is made from inner and outer tubes 2, 4 of equal thickness formed respectively of aluminium and copper. The cable end is visible through an inspection hole 12. The outer tube may be plated externally to prevent corrosion. For connecting pieces of cable the terminal may be in the form of a tube open at each end.
