Abstract
620,957. Rubber-rolling machines. PLANTERS ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and HEYWOOD, F. Feb. 4, 1947, No. 3334. [Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group VIII] Relates to adjusting gear for rolling machines more particularly for sheeting rubber coagulum and in which one roller 11 is mounted in bearings 16 slidable to and from the other roller 10, and comprising a pair of levers 18 piyoted on the machine by-bolts 21 and each engaging at the outer end with a bearing 16 and at the inner end with an abutment 25 adjustable by a screw 26. According to the invention the bolts 21 are adjustable by nuts 37, 38 on the machine to allow alignment of the rollers 1Q, 11. The abutment 25 breaks at a predetermined maximum stress. A distance piece 31 limits downward adjustment of the roller 11. In a modification in which the pressure between the rollers is adjustable the roller 10 is resiliently mounted.
