620,938. Open-close stoves. FEDERATED FOUNDRIES, Ltd., CHAMBERLAIN, E. A. C., and BINNIE, R. T. Feb. 3, 1947, No. 3174. [Class 126] An open - close stove is provided with two interconnected door sections arranged tc slide in a vertical plane towards and away from each other, one door section counterbalancing the other A stove is provided with an inner front plate and an outer vitreous enamel front d providing between them housings above and below the fire opening. Vertically sliding door sections g, h, counterbalancing one another by means of chains or like flexible connections i passing over pulleys j, may be slid towards one another to form a closed fire or away from one another into the housing to form an open fire. The door sections g, h are provided with panels of transparent or translucent material, e.g. mica or wire gauze. The door sections g, h slide along grooves formed between vertical guide plates l and machine ground portions k, k' of the inner front plate and bear against machine ground ribs round the fire opening of the inner front plate when in closed position.
