Abstract

619,289. Modulating systems. COOPER, W. H. B. Nov. 30, 1946, No. 35540. [Class 40 (v)] In a carrier-suppression modulating-system of the kind employing a bridge of rectifiers, balance is secured by feeding the bridge from a pair of high-impedance valves V1, V2, the grids of which are excited in parallel by the carrier e2 and in push-pull by the signal e1, and by adjusting the value of the feed-back impedance R1, R2 of one or both of the valves, thereby adjusting the mutual conductance. The rectifiers W1 ... W4 are preferably diode valves having a large ratio of backward to forward resistance.
