679,105. Electric telemetering systems. COMPAGNIE INDUSTRIELLE DES TELEPHONES. June 13, 1951. [June 14, 1950] No. 14026/51. Class 40 (i). A telemetering system for a slowly varying voltage 4, 0-20 cycles per second, which may be derived from a physical variable by known means, comprises means 1 for amplitude modulating an intermediate A.C. of frequency 10-100 cps, as shown at 5, followed by means 7 for frequency-modulating a carrier of 100-15,000 cps. as shown at 6, the process being reversed at the receiver, and the reconstituted intermediate frequency A.C. 12 operating an indicator 13. Variations in the carrier frequency introduce a D.C. bias into the intermediate frequency A.C. 9 which can be eliminated by a transformer 11 or other D.C. blocking device. The intermediate frequency A.C. may alternatively be frequency modulated by the primary varying voltage. Specifications 652,473 and 666,339, [both in Group XL (c)], are referred to.
