Abstract
651,290. Thermionic distributers. RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA. March 23, 1948, No. 8578. Convention date, March 28, 1947. [Class 40 (iii)] [Also in Group XL (c)] A distributer for use in a pulse multiplex signalling system having channel selectors biassed at different levels so as to be released in succession by stepped voltage waves has three sets of phase displaced stepped waves to control 17 channels grouped into three interleaved banks. A crystal oscillator A, Fig. 1, controls three blocking oscillators B, E, F, the latter two through delay lines C, D, producing pulses as shown at a, band c, Fig. 2. These pulses produce stepped voltage waves d, e, f, from generators G, H, I. Waveform d controls a bank K of 5 channel selectors, and waveforms e and f control further interleaved banks L, M of 6 channels each. The outputs of all selectors, plus a marker pulse, pass to a common amplifier and transmitter. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the delay line is replaced by a pair of controlling oscillators that respond to the appropriate levels of a saw-tooth control wave.
