[Class 40 (iv)] To provide one of the basic groups of twelve channels recommended by the C.C.I.F., viz. the lower sidebands of the carriers 64, 68 ... 108 kc/s., the channels are first formed by modulating a common carrier of frequency 8 kc/s. and the lower sidebands are selected with filters using coils and condensers. The channels are modulated a second time with frequencies 56 to 100 kc/s. and the upper sidebands are selected with filters of the same type.
