523,862. Television transmitters. WEISS, G. Jan. 17, 1939, No. 1588. Convention date, Jan. 17, 1938. [Class 40 (iii)] Synchronizing and picture signals are independently modulated on to two synchronous carrier waves, the carrier wave to be modulated with picture signals being reduced to zero during the duration of the synchronizing signal. A carrier from Tr is applied to the two modulating channels A and BC in parallel. Synchronizing signals modulate one carrier at A, and reduce the other carrier to zero at B, the output from B being modulated at C with the picture signals. Both carriers are mixed at D before radiation. Phase or frequency modulation may be utilized.
