Abstract
650,471. Pulse modulation. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Feb. 19, 1948, No. 4957. Convention date, Feb. 27, 1947. [Class 40 (v)] For demodulating a time-modulated pulse train, the pulses control a saw-tooth wave generator and shaper, the output of which is momentarily applied to a storage circuit near the peak of each of the saw-tooth excursions. As shown, the pulses from source 10 control the discharge valve 12 of the saw-tooth generator 12, 18, 21, the output of which is shaped by circuit 24, 25, which has a time constant longer than that of circuit 18, 21, and which forms the cathode impedance of the cathode-follower stage 20. The storage condenser 36 is connected in parallel to condenser 24 each time a pulse from source 10 renders conducting the thermionic switch 27, 29. A demodulated stepped signal wave thus appears across condenser 36 and is fed through a cathode-follower 33 to the output terminals 37.
