Abstract

716,763. Pulse discriminating circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Nov. 14, 1952 [Nov. 15, 1951], No. 28764/52. Class 40 (6) In a television circuit for obtaining frame synchronizing pulses from signals consisting of frame pulses and line pulses which continue during the frame pulses, the signals are applied to a coincidence circuit directly and through a delay circuit to produce output pulses having a repetition frequency which is a multiple of that of the line pulses and which are applied to a circuit tuned to the multiple frequency. The pulse train b comprising line pulses, equalizing pulses and a slotted frame pulse is applied to the first grid of a valve and through a delay network producing the pulse train c to the second grid of the valve. Anode current passes only when an input occurs simultaneously on both grids so that the output pulse train d is produced during part of the frame pulse period having a repetition frequency four times the line pulse frequency. A circuit S tuned to this frequency is accordingly forced to oscillate at increasing amplitude and when this is sufficient a pulse X is produced in the output of a clipping circuit (not shown).
