Abstract

611,989. Radio receiving circuits. P.R.T. LABORATORIES, Ltd., and FELDMANN, P. A. June 4, 1946, No. 17000. [Class 40 (v)] A voltage derived from an interference signal at -the post-detector stage of a receiver suppresses a pre-detector stage valve during the time of the interference. In the television receiver described, the output of an R.F. or I.F. amplifier V1 is demodulated by the diode D1, the video-frequency output being amplified by V3 and fed both to the output terminal t3 and to the cathode of diode D2. This cathode also has an adjustable positive bias tapped off bias resistor 8; and the anode is connected to the suppressor grid g3 of V1, which grid is earthed through a resistor 7. A signal applied to the cathode of D2 of amplitude sufficient to overcome the bias voltage, causes the diode to conduct; the resulting current through resistor 7 reduces the voltage on g3 so that V1 cuts off, during the occurrence of the interference signal.
