Abstract

619,270. Electric reflectors. M.P. STAINLESS PRODUCTS, Ltd., and McLEMAN, W. Nov. 29, 1946, No. 35409. [Class 39 (iii)] A heating unit for an electric fire comprises a reflector 14 with means for detachably supporting one or more resistance elements in front of it, the flanges 15 of at least one pair of opposite edge flanges of the reflector 14 being each formed as a member separate from the reflector. Means independent of the supports for the resistance elements may be provided for securing these flanges to the reflector, whereby the reflector 14, flanges 15 and element supports form a heating unit for mounting in a panel or other support. The reflector 14, which may be as described in Specification 619,271, has .integral flanges 12 and 13, the separate flanges 15 being secured by means of tie rods 18, and of L shape in crosssection, the longer flange 16 serving to close the end of the reflector trough and the shorter 17 being adapted to engage the outer face of the panel, which is preferably as described in Specification 619,269. The parts 16 of the flanges 15 carry terminals into which are screwed the resistance elements, whilst elongated U-shaped guards carrying nuts at their ends are passed through holes in the parts 17 to secure the heating unit to the panel.
