Abstract

619,269. Electric fires. M.P. STAINLESS PRODUCTS, Ltd., and McLEMAN, W. Nov. 29, 1946, No. 35408. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric fire comprises a panel having a substantially rectangular opening 12 therein in which is mounted an electric heating unit, each edge of the opening being formed by a separate member 10, 14, 15 which members are assembled together. The vertical members 10 have inner and outer flanges 11 and 13 respectively, the inner ones having holes 17 through which are passed bolts to secure the members 10 to the members 14 and 15, which are similarly provided with flanges 15a. The flanges are cut away adjacent the opening 12. Brackets 19 and 22 respectively enable a canopy 18 and a base 20 to be fitted to the panel. The heating unit is attached to the panel by passing the ends of elongated U-shaped guards for the heating elements through holes 27 in the members 10, the ends of the guards being screw-threaded and carrying securing nuts. The heating unit may be as described in Specification 619,270. If desired one of the members 10, 14, or 15 may be dispensed with, the opening 12 being then formed in one edge of the panel. The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 619,271.
